Notwithstanding the assertion of the kotzker regarding the oneness of the Jewish people discounting the possibility of sovereignty within the Jewish people, yet regarding his similarity to the limbs of the body we find the phrase, moach shalit al halev.... certainly there is some aspect of sovereignty in regard to the limbs of the body.

In addition there are halachos regarding which part of the body should be washed first pointing as well to thr presence of some form of sovereignty.

I am in middle of watching your part 4 Shiur on 'A Sword in the Bais Medrash' and I think I encountered a fantastic idea.

Amidst the discussion about imperfections in familial lineage and in light the Gemara which says, "Ain ma'amidin Parnes al hatzibbur etc... and Rashi's explanation that it is referring to Dofi....Mishpacha I wanted to explain the relevance of Eliyahu Hanavi to the future Redemption.

Chazal Say that Eliyahu is the Mevaser Hageulah. Since we see that the concept of Malchus and Moshiach (who is a Melech) is novel to Klal Yisrael as an entity therefore requiring Dovid Hamelechs emergence from Moav it would seem that Eliyahu Hanavi too in his relation to the Geulah would have some uniqueness about him which would designate him for that position.

In this weeks Parsha, Pinchas, we learn Pinchas zeh Eliyahu as a result of his waging G-ds war and killing Zimri and Kazbi. The Parsha begins Pinchas Ben Elazar Ben Aharon Hakohen... Rashi asks the obvious regarding the neccessity of the Pasuk to detail his lineage and answers, 'since the people would say look at this ben puti whose anestors would stuff calves for idol worship, he rose up to annihalate a full tribe in Yisrael!'

Perhaps this familial imperfection is the secret to Eliyahu being Mevaser the Geulah....

I realize that you note the Gemara of Hesech Hadas. However, it dawned upon me to bring all of this full circle that the three things which come b'hesech hada'as are Moshiach, Metziah, V'akrav which are Roshei Teivos Mum or blemish which is the crux of the earlier part of the shiur. Many people think that things which come beyond the scope of their consciousness is lacking their input and their influence but we see the very opposite to be the truth. In reality, the greatest blessings materialize if when we withdraw ourselves from the picture.

Most people I know would rather Moshiach not come if it entailed the revelation that they were found in Sodom. From the fact that the Tehillim writes, "Matzasi Dovid Avdi B'sdom" that is the necessary measure of humility required to deliver the salvation.

Korach was known as arrogant. So it appears there was arrogance amongst the Jews. Perhaps there is a difference in the type of arrogance. Can you elaborate?

Is the mitzvah of leaving over a portion of your field the reason why New Yorkers want moshiach more than others? They are always saying ..."forget about it!"

if yitzchok thought he was giving the blessings to eisav, that means that they WERE prepared and not spontaneous! he gave them to the wrong person, but he knew what he was giving! how does that fit into the spontaneity and resulting profoundness of the blessings?

its brought down in Chasiddus? that forgetfulness comes come from Klipah?

If King Shaul did not have what it took to be a king - why did Hashem choose him to be king? Why was Shaul punished for what comes natural for a Jew to be -? Why would he be punished for not being something that was impossible (at that time) for a Jew to be?
