    Unity one time
    Dear Moshe,

    Excellent question.

The answer is, by the story of the tower of Bavel the Torah uses the expression "safa Echas" one language, and Rahi adds "eitza Achas" one idea. However, this was not powerful enough to  transform them into "Keish echad" - one person.

While in the story with the Egyptian the "lev Echad" turned them into "Ish Echad". That was a real novelty, and that is the chidush of Rashi here.

    Thank you for your observation.

    unity one time
Rabbi, thanks for the insightful class.  If i followed correctly, i believe you said the nations only unified one time before mattan Torah.  I understood nimrod/tower of babel as a unification against Hashem.  In turn Hashem mixed their languages and they turned into several nations?  Please explain.  Thanks

    Achdus Hashem
    Dear Dov,

    Thank you for your question

In your question you already "hint" to the answer....   you write that Hashem's unity is seen everywhere IF YOU LOOK FOR IT.

In other words, before Moshiach comes, during the times of Golus, Achdus Hashem (the unity of Hashem) is not seen and obvious. Just walk down any street....

However, Hashem gave the ability for anyone who searches, and He actually requested that we all do that research, to see Achdus Hashem even during the time of Golus, which will lead to the ultimate goal that the whole world should see Achdus Hashem. This will be when Moshiach comes, and the whole world with their flesh eyes, naturally,  (with no research...) will see Achdus Hashem.

As the the Posuk says: "Bayom Hahu (on that day) Yihye Hshem Echod Ushmo Echod.".

    Thank you for your inquiry.

Thank you for this revolutionary idea of the Rebbe.

I had a question regarding what you mentioned at the end of the shiur. You said the yichud hashem will only be revealed when Moshiach comes. Isn't is a basic principle in yidishkeit that hashems unity is ssen everywhere if you look for him (e.g nature, divine providence)?
