    Echad through avoda
    Baruch HaShem

Is it correct to understand the 1st level as:
    Shama Yisrael - Listen Yid
HaShem Elokeinu - If you study Torah and do mitzvot, you become Mekava for Hashem and your power is beyond control
HaShem Echad - You are One with G-d

    To Yosef
Rabbi Paltiel meant "only" relative to the level of a tzadik. Of course to be a banuni is very difficult and a life-long challenge, but it is still far lower than the level of a tzaddik. Hence the use of the word "only."

    Only
Thanks for the answer. But I am not clear when Rabbi P said
That "R Homiler was "only a banuni" Only seems to say that it was no big deal to be a banuni.Thank you

    Answer To Yosef
In the book of Tanya, the author explains at length that a "banuni" does not violate the Divine will in action, words and active thoughts, but still struggles inside with negativity, evil, and doubt. The Tzadik, on the other hand, transformed himself internally as well. See Tanya chapters 10-14, 27, and 29.

This Chassid, Reb Issac Homiler, was a "banuni," not a "tzaddik." Hence the Alter Rebbe invited him to join him in the mikvah.
