  Is there no chochmah (wisdom) in Ein Sof?
  First of all, Ein Sof is a very abstract concept, but if we adhere to the explanation of Isaac Luria that the Ein Sof is that what mediates between Atzmus and Kesser then it's place and function becomes more clear.
  
  I read that the sefirah of chochmah came from a 'flash of light' that emanated from the Ohr Ein Sof.
  
  Now if the Ohr Ein Sof is the giluy from Ein Sof, then shouldn't we conclude from it that the Ein Sof itself must contain wisdom (chochmah) as well?

    Understand, that the fact that the Ein Sof is an abstract idea doesn’t mean we should not attempt to wrap our minds around it. If we fail to gain some sense, however vague, of the Ein Sof, we’ve missed the entire point of Kabala. The whole quest ids to have some personal sense of the Ein Sof (the “light”).
    
    Any form is outside or beneath the Ein Sof. Some however, like Chochma have a quality that allows us to sense the Ein Sof through them.
    
    I must tell you that names and places in Kabala, actually mean very little. The point is to connect.

     Ein Sof is a reflection [“The Light”] of the Creator, and has everything within it. The Alter Rebbe (whose Maamarim we are studying) actually introduces a (new) notion called “Sfiros Ein Ketz” (infinite Sefiros) to underscore the infinity of the Ein Sof as it is by itself.
    
    Thus, Chochma also exists within the Ein Sof.
    
    However, The Ein Sof is plain with all the detail in a perfect unity and is therefore beyond Chochma as an individual attribute.
    
    See Tanya Section two chapter 8-10. It would also be helpful for you to review in the More’ Nivuchim section 1 where Rambam discusses the idea of Shlila (indirect inclusion of detail) in relation to the Creator.
