    Why such a long term effect?

    First of all, great shiur, great insights! Thank you. According to your explanation of why the crying for nothing led to crying for generations, why did the spies' crying have such an effect on so many later generations, even until today, especially since not all the spies cried, and not all the people cried (only the men).
