The class took place three days after Hamas breached the fence and attacked Jewish towns near Gaza, on Shabbos morning, Simchas Torah, 5784, October 7, 2023. 1300 Jews were murdered, thousands were wounded, and more than 100 were taken as hostages to Gaza.

On Thursday, January 23, 2020, the five counties of Rockland County, New York, united to speak out against hate.&nbsp;Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann, Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips, Orangetown Supervisor Teresa Kenny, Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht and Stony Point Supervisor Jim Monaghan have formed the&nbsp;Rockland County Supervisors&rsquo; Coalition&nbsp;to stamp out hate and promote unity in Rockland County.&nbsp;

The Coalition,&nbsp;organized by Ramapo Chief of Staff Mona Montal, was&nbsp;joined by the Police Chiefs of the five Town Police Departments. The coalition hosted its&nbsp;inaugural forum&nbsp;at the Crowne Plaza, in Suffern, N.Y. Rabbi YY Jacobson gave the invocation.
