On Shabbat, the last day of Passover, April 27, 2019, a gunman attacked the Chabad synagogue in Poway, Ca., murdering Lori Kaye, and wounding the Rabbi, Yisroel Goldstein, Almog Peretz and his 8-year-old niece, Noya Dahan.
This lecture, presented by Rabbi Y.Y. Jacobson at a “peace and unity event,” brought together many communities from NJ in a show of solidarity, on Monday, April 29, 2019. The evening was held at the Chabad Center of Short Hills, NJ, and was organized by Rabbi Mendel Solomon and Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum. The event was led by Rabbi Solomon, spiritual leader of Chabad, Short Hills.

What is more astonishing to me than the murder of a previous Jew in a place I never heard of was the lack of serious response and solidarity of the murder of not one soul, but 359 in their prayer service on their “holy” day. As everything this too was hasgacha. So while I praise the unity Lori Kaye’s hy”d
murder generated I ask you Rabbi in the name of “Jewish Leadership” are we not a light unto the nations? And if not are we punished accordingly? Why are there any Jews left in the exile when they can join the rebuilding of the Land and struggle together to find a peaceful way for rebuilding the Temple by
building ourselves into one nation with one heart. The Rebbe said increase in acts of goodness and kindness and he didn’t restrict it in any way. Obviously we have to love our brother as ourselves and here too we must add sincere love for each other and nurture that as well. But ultimately we are not articulating our message loudly enough or clearly enough...and so the opposite of love grows which manefests are violence and murder. Awaiting your return and that if all of Am Yisrael because ultimately anywhere in the world other than Eretz Yisrael, we are the other. Blessings for the immediate redemption for ALL of mankind.
And as a lady point...Shveii shel Pesach, the imminent seudas Moshiach and yes, yiskor, a memorial to those who preserved Judaism. We stand on their shoulders.

one conclusion
Your lecture inspired this because I couldn’t even open it to read it. Not computer savvy and don’t want to “subscribe”. In any case I wrote a comment but wanted to add a few more thoughts personally.
Even under Trump, and maybe even more because of Trump’s appreciation of the Jews ,he and we are more exposed than before.
But often what gentiles see is “other”...we are not of them. And knowing this it is often hard to understand why Jews are choosing assimilation, or perhaps not choosing but inevitably being absorbed by what I call the Starbucks generation. Life is good in galus, maybe too good!
So this brings me to your conversation with Rabbi Steinsaltz one Shabbos afternoon in Jerusalem where he shared the Gemara about the whale...and as the previous Rebbe said so well...America iz nisht andes..,and so it is. Trump has been a blessing, but the story is still being written. May it always be written for good.
Am sure we will catch up soon in Jerusalem...because their is no place like HOME.

This shiur is a חיוב to be played in every classroom in every school , . Unfortunately even our own childern don't begin to fathom the core essence of our nation they're meaning what a Jew is and how to be a proud jew

Yasher koach gadol. This was a tremendous message that honors the victims of Chabad Poway urging all of us to bring more light and dispel darkness. I think the Rebbe would be very proud of you. May you be strengthened to continue in good health bsimcha ad 120.

I just wanted to tell you how deeply saddened and shocked we were following what happened in Poway. All of Our prayers, thoughts and acts are directed towards our brothers and sisters of the Chabad community, and especially towards the family of Lori Gilbert Kaye z’l. May H give her daughter and husband the strength and courage to overcome this horrible and traumatic loss. And may we never have to hear or live again such terrible attacks.
We are one people and if someone of our community is taken down, we’re all down, no matter how far she or he was. To me, Chabad represents the ardut and strength and the heart of the Jewish people. All over the world their presence help us getting closer to H and bring out the best in us, bringing out more light in the world.
I hope that every Jew will understand that we need to get together now more than ever, we have to stop our stupid disputes and meaningless arguments because now it’s a time when we just came out of Egypt, we’re still all clean from our “chametz”, like on Yom Kippur we could be wearing white clothes on Pessach. And so we should stay in that state of purity for as long as possible and get together now and pray. And beezrat H’ this will help us bring Mashiach down here to deliver us so we no longer have to suffer in this world.
Rabbi Goldstein said it himself, Am Yisroel Chai! We will always be saved by H no matter who tries to hurt us and how. Hakadosh Baruch Hu matsileinu mi yadam. Now it’s the time!
