    Not all chidushim of the rabbonim reached everyone

    Especially before WhatsApp. Hence the difference between Ashkenazim and Sefardim about rice etc on pesach. 

    I met a from yemenite family in Monsey last summer during the nine days. On a hunch I asked if they ate chicken during the nine days. And they said "yes, we eat chicken. It's not fleishigs for us".

      Chicken is fleishig only midrabanan, not min hatorah.
