My comments and question about Yakov listening to Rivka. Came before your explanation from the Ostropser which is partially similar.
The irony is that when I became Frum I asked my father what group his frum parents my namesake,belonged to living in Radom, Poland. He said that my namesake went once a year to the nearby Osropser Rebbe. Like you said everything we do has an impact on unborn children. My zaydes action have impacted me tho I never knew him!My zayde's Rebbe, the Ostropser, answered my question to you. He raised the same question as I did. Lol. But only he gave an answer, i.e. that Yakov and Yosef punished for only 9 years, the amount of time Yosef could have ended his fathers suffering.

"Most of the yidden liked Mordechai" Huh?
How can it be that only "most" of the yidden liked Mordechai, the hero of the Megilla story, the av beis din, the prime minister?

Notice that if ALL the members of the Sanhedrin vote "guilty of murder" the accused goes free. There must be some dissent for a kosher verdict.

Who didn't like Mordechai? His colleagues on the Sanhedrin. They felt it was wrong to take off time from Torah to get involved in government. (Tho he was teaching halachos of the Omer when Haman approached. And what about Yosef?) This debate still rages between those who would stay in kollel forever versus those who say we must work with and in and transform the world.

And who wrote the text of the Megilla that "most" of the yidden liked Mordechai? Mordechai and Esther themselves! Brutal honesty.

Similarly in the debate recently whether shuls and schools should close for Corona, there was debate among gedolim. Some held that the regular learning and davenning will protect us, and not to decrease them, while others held that the opinions of doctors and scientists ought to prevail and do shuls and schools should all close down for the first time in history as we quarantine and isolate ourselves.

The latter position has won out, though a small stubborn minority refuse to go along with the universal rabbinic consensus.

Notice that those who didn't like Mordechai also didn't bring about the salvation nor did they write the Megilla.

The Baal Shem Tov: "don't be a tzaddik in peltz. Give Hashem His parnassa!"
