  hi rabbi jacobson,

  please correct me if im wrong,but it sounds like a person has to say krias shma 2 times daily to fullfil the mitzvah.so if a person says one time at night and misses the morning shma or vice versa he would not fullfill the mitzvah. my reasoning is because the rambam writes 'the mitzvah is to read twice a day'  .and its not like tefillin that the rambam says its two mitvahs.

  it would be intresting to see if any other rishonim divide the mitzvah of shma in two
