Thx for the clip on Yosef. I admit being a bit surprised with the thought that “Yosef was thought upon as the 1st Hellenist”?? I know there’s a Medrash that says they thought he’d led them to the Baal. but a Hellenist?? that’s quite a novel (if not disagreeable) peshat.
After all:
Yosef was appalled with their shitas, and the “koolos” it engendered. He seems like The definition of a kanoiy..
of his “psak” that they had a din of Jews (לפני הר סיני), while the brothers held themselves as Bnei Noach!
- holding it unacceptable that an animal’s new born child - בן פקוע - could be shechted & eaten. “Only” because of MAR’ES AYIN...!!
- his taking exception to their doing business with married women.
-that the bnei Z&B were referred to as bnei h’shifchos..-standing up to the hairy beast while his brothers stayed in line-not missing a morsel of YA’s treasures

I was shocked (in a good way) by you video today. Everything is now appearing to me in a New Light.
Clearly, I have misunderstood Judaism for virtually all of my life. Very enlightening, motivating, and totally startling to me. And to think, I used to think, I was relatively intelligent; so much for that theory. Amazing Material. Thank you
