    Sharing a Thought...

Very simple thought. I was listening to yyj , and he was trying to explain what the neshoma is. So he explained at length about a refrigerator and all its parts....and how none of it works until its plugged in to electricity. Our body's electricity is our nishoma.
So I thought, hey he took away my explanation to my clients of the nervous system. I talk about an appliance that has all the parts ready to work, but dsnt operate until its plugged in to electricity. Or for that matter gas in a car. The engine won't work without gas. The body's parts are energized thru the ns.
So are we enervated by our neshoma or by the nervous system????!!!!
And at age 60 what I've been learning for 50 plus years came together in a real tangible solid way. This is the gashmiyus and ruchniyus world we embody. Its truly both. Im getting the interface of the nisheema and nishama. Breath and soul. I think I get it. I guess at least I get what I dont get. So much more to say about nefesh habahamis and nefesh haelokis.....so much more to understand and to tolerate not understanding!

    מָה הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא מָלֵא כָּל הָעוֹלָם — אַף נְשָׁמָה מְלֵאָה אֶת כָּל הַגּוּף?

      ben yehoyadah

    Achashveros couldn't sleep.

It was as if Hashem was asleep and was then aroused to save the yidden and initiate the nischapahoo. (turnaround).

December 1941 the yidden were not only a potential threat of annihilation like during Purim but were ACTUALLY being murdered and gassed.

Then the "king" of the world, the superpower of the world at the time, who was "asleep, i.e. oblivious (FDR and the 400 rabbis) before that  and  was also awakened at Pearl Harbor.  That awakening brought America into the war and ultimately resulted in winning the war, saving the Jewish survivors and preventing worldwide domination by the reshoyim.

Hashem does the mitzvos He gives us

How, then, does Hashem fulfill the mitzvah of drinking to the pointbof not knowing the difference between cursed be Haman and blessed be Mordechai?

One gemora requires us to drink on Purim to the point of not knowing

The difference between "cursed be Haman".and "blessed be Mordechai".

Yet another gemora says it is an abomination to daven drunk.

    How to reconcile?

Simple.  One should should drink as required at the daytime seuda AFTER davenning mincha. By the time he wakes up to daven maariv the effects of the wine have worn off.

Is wine a stimulant to enable speaking or a depressant that puts to sleep?

Both.  A little wine (less than the 4 cups the Rebbe stipulated) is a stimulant that gets the quiet ones speaking.  But wine in excess is a depressant that puts to sleep and results in no speaking.

Tzaddikim are more alive in the next world

Than rishoyim are while in this world.

    R. Josh Gordon's website on Chitas and more was the most visited Jewish website in the world even after his passing.

He was a "chip off the block". His father, R. Sholem Ber Gordon was mikarev many yidden in Maplewood, NJ for decades.

Fitting that today's sponsorship of the masmer  in honor of Yochanan Gordon includes references to another Yochanan Kohen Godol.
