    When we eat matza seder night

    We haven't eaten any wheat for a whole. Chometz is prohibited the day before the  seder. And mazta is likewise prohibited. 

    We must make an "ayin b'emtza" a void between the consumption of wheat in either firm all year and the matza of the seder

    Perhaps the mitzvah to eat matza the night and day of yetzias Mitzrayim

    Was not so much about eating wheat, wheat by which a child learns to say "abba" but more about NOT eating yeast or leavened product.

    Couldn't the directive NOT to eat yeast have been satisfied by eating, say, a vegetable?

    True, the yidden also ate wheat while in Mitzrayim

    Perhaps as matza that took less time to bake because slaves must get to work quickly and it satiates for longer, or as chometz. 

    But neither was a mitzvah. Either eating wheat in Mitzrayim as matza or chometz was "rishus" permissible and neither was a mitzvah.

    Leaving quickly without allowing the dough to rise and therefore eating the dough as matza was a mitzva, the result of obeying a specific command to leave and leave quickly.

    The Holy combination of time, person and place

    We know that the holiest combination is the Kohen Godol, Yom Kippur and the Kodosh Kedoshim in the Beis Hamigdash. Person, time and place. 

    Perhaps when a yid eats matza on peasch at the seder table, this is, albeit on an individual smaller scale a reenactment of the Avodah on yom Kippur.

    The holiest Person, a yid, at a holy time, the night of the seder, eats matza at the seder table (which reflects the Mizbayach). The table alone without the matza is a holy table but with matza on it, rises to the level of the Mizbayach  

    So we need all three components if time, Person and place to reenact the avodah. And the mazta completes it.

    CP isn't PC

    I took your suggestion and listened to Emunah No. 12. It was excellent and helped me with my grappling comment on Friday. For those who want to hear it so they know what it actually means to be Chosen, here is the link https://www.theyeshiva.net/jewish/4153

    And maybe share it with people who think that it means we are better. Because it doesn't. "It means we were chosed by GD to be a conduit to infinity. So those who actually felt/feel that they are chosen by Hashem have much more respect, even for animals, they are more compassionate, they are very sensitive to others, and have almost no judgmentalism in them . And the reason is because the more a person feels closeness to Hashem by definition, the more humble you feel. There is never the feeling that I am better than you. I am holier than you, or that I am grander than you. The more a person feels chosen, the more love and respect there is to others. If the feeling of choseness makes you feel superior to other people, it has NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING CHOSEN. Feelings of superiority have only to do with ones ego"  (Quotes are all from the Emunah class). 

    Maybe the shiur should be entitled "What does it mean to be the Chosen People?" We all have a lot to learn.
