    Victim turned perpetrator

Thank you for these profoundly meaningful classes. I've had the humbling privilege to be a friend and support of several adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. These concepts provide messages of healing beyond anything I have previously encountered. Unfortunately, in their attempt to resolve their trauma, victims can reenact their abuse by abusing others. The turmoil and torment they experience later in life is overwhelmingly intense. Any words of wisdom on this tragic phenomenon? Thank you.

There has always been sexual abuse, because children have, sadly, been considered property, as have women, who have also been sexually abused historically.  We also live in a time of unprecedented lack of self control, lack of personal responsibility, and lack of modesty.  By lack of modesty, I do not necessarily mean lack of "tznius"; I mean lack of sex and sexuality being in a proper perspective.  Sex is for sale and for exploitation everywhere; sex sell cars, clothing, makeup, jewelry, vacations, you name it, sex is used to sell it.  Sex is exploited.  So that is perilously close to children being exploited for sexual purposes - for some people.  Not for most.  But for some.  And also, children are sexualized younger and younger.  It is shameful.

Billam had a blind eye and couldn't see

Everything.  There's an expression in English that says "turning a blind eye", meaning that one ignores the bad.

Not at all to excuse sexual molesters chv"S

But.....I knew a lubavitcher chosid with a large family. He was a brilliant person. But it was eventually discovered that he abused both daughters and sons.

When asked when he was in jail how could he do this, he answered that he somehow thot that he had "balibatishkeit " (rulership, dominion) over them. So it was obvious that he was very very warped and sick.

Was that his fault, his doing? Or is it like a physical ailment that comes to a person?

Why is there such a high level of sexual

Abuse these days? Could it be that in society in general the prevalence of sexual explicitness so easily available that this has aroused the latent yetzer Hora? Before one had to go to a seedy theater for arousal but now it's in every pocket. And the streets are no better.

Unprecedented sexual immorality can trigger unpredicted sexual abuse

    Our generation has an unprecedented

Level of sexual abuse of children.  We also have an unprecedented level of physical wealth and freedom (not withstanding the anti-semitism).

    Are these related?

Recall Maslow's hierarchy. We all must work hard to satisfy basic needs of existence, like food, clothing and shelter. And only after that is satisfied can we turn to more lofty pursuits.

There were always sick people who could sexually abuse. But these days they can only pursue those "lofty" pursuits (for them) because basic needs are met.

You can't abuse if you're an abuser when you're starving.

Hire a computer hacker for your security

Many american kids are allergic to peanuts.  Not so Israeli kids. Why? Because they get Bamba early on and develop a tolerance.

Bloodhounds are given a whiff of the target's scent and will follow it. Not necessarily does it smell out rishus

    What's the message,

what's the lesson we're supposed to get from the stories of Tamar and Yehuda, the birth of David, Lot and his daughters, Boaz and Ruth.  All of these questionable relationships lead to Moshiach,  what we are all waiting for. How do relate to all of this?

I would love to hear an answer to this too. I was wondering the same thing. Each partner/pair had a generational gap difference at least. Boaz and Ruth had 40 yr gap.

To understand. It's not for us to choose to go into a nissayon. But if we find ourselves there, to better understand and cope and have the strength to overcome.

Shir 3  Rabbi Yosef Yitzhak Jacobson  Intro:

Sometimes because of different circumstances or realities or tragedies or certain abusive situations a child internalizes certain messages about themselves.  It’s not your message, it’s your perpetrator’s message.  The perpetrator is living inside of you, using your energy to destroy you and you think it’s you!  The perpetrator went in - like in a virus.  What’s does a virus do?  You know what they do, right?  They get thru the body’s bodyguards, they ‘chop’ a cell, they grab a cell, they create havoc in the cell and then they use the cell’s own ability to replicate themselves, the virus uses the power of replication of the cell’s themselves to replicate the virus.  Before you know it your own cellular system suddenly replicated this virus millions, billions, trillions of times.  The body is full of the virus.    Understand what the “guy” does?   Just one cell.  But now I have you, you’ll replicate me.  Emotionally too, the perpetrator lives in the person, uses his chiyus, contaminates the whole thought system and creates anxiety that’s incessant for whatever it is.  And the person thinks it’s all them.   It’s all the klipa that’s using my chiyus against me.   So this is a real battle, a milchama atzumas.
