    Rain Coat
    Rabbi Wineberg,

Can I tie my rain coat belt with a double knot? If I tie it with one knot, it usually does not hold? What do we do on Shabbos?

On more question: When I remove my shoes at night I do not like to untie the shoelaces; you can guess the reason... (not because I am a talmid chacham...). But to put it on I have untie it.

May I untie this knot which has been made on Friday morning? And then may I tie it again and it will stay till Sunday morning, or even till next Shabbos?

this is a regular shoelace knot --- a single knot with a boe on top of it? Please advise on all of this.

Also, can you tell us about ladies hair coverings (tichlach)? What is the status with them?

If you could during the shuir go through more situations which are practical, it would be helpful. Like rain coats, tichlach, etc. Thank you.

    Single Knot on Challah Bag
If I tie the plastic challah bag with one knot but I make it very tight, which you can do with plastic bags, is it permissible? If we believe that a double knot might be a "kesher umnos," and every tight knot may be in same category, that would seem t be forbidden? So why is only a double knot forbidden?

Please correct if I am wrong. This is very practical for every Shabbos.

    Rashi and Rambam
    Rabbi Wineberg,

What is the rational and logic behind the argument of Rashi and Rambam if the only factor in tying knots is the endurance, or also the type of knot?

and how would this argument be expressed in the spiritual meaning of "tying" explained in the class?

    Thank you.
