why is Hashem so Angry?!
The Rabbi mentioned the holy Rebbe of Kotzk as to how can get angry with us or with Moses if He is blatantly transgressing a commandment that He Himself equated to Idolatry as the Rabbi mentioned from Talmud Nedarim and Shabbos. The Rabbi answered in the name of the master of Kotzk that when Gd gets angry He is not cover over or concealing His emotions as a human does, what Gd is convey when He is angry is that Gd is conveying His passion and perspective to the person or nation that was lacking beforehand. I'm guessing this explains how Moses was able to get upset or harbor any type of wrath towards the Jewish people, it was actually intense education and conveying a deeper intensity for truth. As Moses was a direct conduit for Gds words as the Midrash in Rabbah 80 says.
My other bewildered thought was on a question in the class about why has a Gd of justice and judgment become so prevalent in the world today and not the deeper more authentic merciful father that Gd is. I'm guessing maybe that's what the Talmud meant in another way that the Jews living in the diaspora may be serving idol worship in a holy way because many ideological and religious sentiment has been skewed and distorted from authentic paganism that reigns commonplace outside of Israel, a vengeful Gd that expresses wrath and we seldomly hear of the love and embrace that speak to the deepest core of our quintessential identity. Perhaps this is subtle idolatry, not yearning and exploring the true fatherly relationship that Gd wishes we knew was His only reality.
