Why do we pray if we believe that all G-D dos is in our best interest?
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson for all your great shiurim, including this one!
In this lecture you explain very nicely that through prayer we connect to G-D beyond the rules, we talk to Hashem like a child to his father which transceds all the rules and regulationes. But how does this answer the question? There is nothing to pray for! whatever is happening to you is the best thing that could be! Why would you want that to change?!

Maybe the reason you're in a particular situation is because G-d wants our prayers and He want connection with us. Perhaps our prayers are part of His plan (person ignoring G-d. G-d's plan: person will be put in troubled situation, will realise he needs help beyond human capacity, he'll recognise Him and pray for help, salvation will come) And as Rabbi YY mentioned, it doesn't contradict faith, but it just strengthens our faith.

Does prayer contradict faith.
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson for the best explanation I have ever heard.
