  Rochel is burried on the way

  השלום והברכה לך

  שמעתי עכשיו את שיעורך על הרש"י ד"ה "ואני בבואי מפדן" [ח' בטבת תשע"ח]כיצד יעקב אבינו מבין לליבו ולרגשותיו של יוסף  ועונה לו שזה היה עומק רצונה להיות עם הילדים מאשר במערת המכפלה הקדושה.אף אני הלכתי באותה דרך ולקחתי משל ודוגמה מעולם החינוך וההוראה ולא מעולם  של אמא וילדים.לאה ורחל שניהם מורים: לאה של הילדים הטובים והחרוצים שרק אוהבים לשמוע וללמוד.מורה כזאת נמצאת כל הזמן בכיתה כי שם נמצאים התלמידים  המקסימים שלה.רחל היא המורה של הילדים הקשים שאין להם מחברות ולא אוהבים ללמוד הם נמצאים בחוץ ומשחקים.רחל המורה שאוהבת אותם לא צועקת עליהם אלא גם היא נמצאת בחוץ. שם היא לא מטיפה להם אלא יושבת איתם בשמש ובגשם ומקשיבה לכל הצרות שלהם. ותוך כדי שיחה היא מכניסה להם את כל היהדות והמצוות:"בוא ניטול ביחד ידיים ונאכל ותמשיך לספר לי.  וכמה יפה הכיפה על הראש שלך ואיזה מתוק אתה שעזרת לחבר אתמול לסחוב את האופניים הכבדות". וכו' וכו' הכל מתוך נועם ואהבה.וכשהם, לא עלינו, בבית הסוהר  כי עשו דברים לא טובים, היא מגיעה כל יום שלישי לביקור ומביאה להם אוכל ביתי וממתקים ומברכת איתם ברכה ראשונה ואחרונה ולא כועסת עליהם.וכשהם יוצאים לגלות היא עומדת ביציאה לגלות ומחבקת אחד אחד ואומרת לו אל תשכח לשמור שבת ואל תתחתן עם גויה. ואני מבקשת ממך תעשה זאת אפילו בשבילי שאני אשמח. ואני אתפלל עליכם בדמעות כי אני אוהבת אתכם. ויש שכר לפעולה הזאת כשחוזרים מהגלות היא מחכה להם וכל אחד ניגש אל המורה האהובה ואומר לה: "בגללך שמרנו שבת ולא התחתנו עם גויות" ובוכים על צווארה. וכמו שגם אתה אמרת - זו  בקשתה העמוקה של רחל אני רוצה להיות בחוץ בדרך במקום שהתלמידים נמצאים שם אני אפרד מהם ברגעים הקשים ושם אחכה להם כל הזמן אפילו אלפי שנים עד שיבואו.זו הסיבה שרחל קבורה בדרך. שם היא הייתה רוצה להיות. ומי כמוך יוסף יודע את רצונה שזה המקום המתאים לה ולא מערת המכפלה. וחס וחלילה לא עשיתי זאת בחיפזון ובלי מחשבה, אלא בכוונת מכוון וקיבלתי על כך גילוי אלוקי שזהו המקום הראוי לרחל אמנו.

  The oath of Joseph

  All commentators are trying to combine the oath of Joseph to Jacob and the oath of Joseph to Pharaoh. Due to the fact that the pharaoh will not allow Yaakov to be buried in Eretz Knaan. And then Joseph can use the oath as a trump card. But I want to remind one detail that commentators do not pay attention to - at that time the Jews in Egypt were not yet slaves, they were free and no one could detain them in Egypt, and at any moment they could leave Egypt, as when bought bread and returned home. From this I can conclude that the oath given by Joseph is of a completely different nature. Yaakov did not need the oath of Joseph to be buried in Erkts Knaan, because the Almighty himself promised him this in the chapter of Vaigash - "46-2. And God said to Israel in the visions of the night, and He said: Yaakov, Yaakov! And he said: Here I am.
  3. And He said: I am Gd, Gd of your father! Do not be afraid to descend into Mizraim, for I will make you great people there.
  4. I will come down with you to Mizraim and I will raise you up, I will also build up (from there). And Yosef will lay his hand on your eyes. "
  Why, then, does he demand an oath from Joseph? Because he sees resentment in his heart for the fact that Rachel is buried separately. And he is afraid that Joseph will bury him next to her, and therefore demands an oath from him to be buried in a cave with his forefathers. Therefore, Jacob conjures Joseph, not all the sons, because only Joseph had a claim to him.
  And one more detail, if the Torah wanted to indicate that the reason for the oath was: “Oh, if I had found mercy in your eyes, then you would have put your hand under my thigh and made me true mercy: do not bury me in Mitzraim!” , then the oath itself should be after these words. In fact, the oath follows the verse: “And I will lie with my fathers, and you take me out of Mizraim and bury me in their burial place!” And he said: I will do according to your word. And he said: Swear to me! And he swore to him.
  Because the oath was recorded immediately after the request to be buried in the burial place together with the forefathers, we can conclude that it is directly related to this request, therefore, he requires an oath from Joseph so as not to be buried with Rachel. So I see this episode.

  We were left literally breathless, touched to tears, and elated...
  
  What chizuk for the Jewish woman!
  
  I must admit, that this entire concept was brought out to me most beautifully a few years ago by Rabbi Jacobson during a shiur on the meraglim where you quoted the Kli Yakar. I have since incorporated this entire lesson into countless lessons to my kallah's and women.  This new spin, from Rochel Imainu, added more beauty and dimension and I am deeply grateful.
  
  I kept thinking to myself that Rochel's deeper undestanding of " where Kedusha lies" can be felt tangibly, when one visits kever Rochel, as opposed to Me'aras Hamachpeila.  I'm sure great people can easily sense the Holiness at Machpeila but for simpletons like myself it always struck me how Kever Rochel has "Something" that I couldn't feel anywhere else in the world...
