  Yasher Koiach, once again.

  I went back to last years to watch the story of the Chazzan in Frankfurt who did Kol Nidrei for that 1 Jew...

  It made me cry all over again!

  and opened my heart for the last Slichos.

  Message: I listened/watched last years kumzitz and was very very inspired. Thank you Rabbi YY from the depth of my heart. It was disappointing though that I couldn't access the previous years kumzitzen which I tried watching to warm me open even more in advance of the special times we're in. Seems like it has not been uploaded the same way as the 5778 one, as it doesn't open. I want to thank you in advance for doing whatever it takes to enable it to open as last years one.   I really enjoyed your Fabrenigen this past Motzei Shabbos (It was my first one in my 39 year existence).I have  theory as how the rebbe knew that that this was son of the dying mother. As you mentioned the rebbe cared for these kids as his own even though he never meet them. They were his kids. You don't need someone to tell you who your kids are.

  Satmar Rebbe zt"l

  I am not sure what people want. Rabbi YY quoted a man, with a name and address. Why don't you go to him and ask him? Rabbi YY was repeating the story he heard.

  I for one do not know if it is true. How would I? But people seem to not know the fact that the satmar Rav zt"l came to the Chabad Rebbe and sat there for a long time. Mid night. Night before Yom Kippur. 

  
  Does any rational person believe that Satmar Rebbe would come to visit him if he didn’t respect him deeply?

   

  And I really do not see why it is so strange that for something he felt the Chabad rebbe had experience with, he would send to him? for example, say a crisis connected to Russian Jewry.

  Dear Rebbe,

  Did the Lubavitcher Rebbe really have any contacts with the Divrei Yoel as you mentioned in a shiur you gave recently?

  The story had to do with the businessman traveler from Begium whose father was a Satmer Chasid and mother was a Vishnitzer?

  The man went to a purim fabrengen.......... his mother had passed away with the machala etc............... the special letter that the Rebbe read before Kol Nidrei........... I told this over as best aas I could on Rosh hashana and my son-law said at the table that it was very unlikely there the Satmer Rebbe would have sent someone to the Lubavitcher Rebbe etc..... based on a book written about some principal of limudei chol studies at the satmar yeshiva who had asked the divrei yoel whether he should be in touch with the Lubavitcher Rebbe in the design of their curriculum etc. and the answer was negative>

  I didn't want to argue too much at the table so I let it go.

  It happens in prison too...

  I davened kol nidrei for the umid for 3 years - first time in my life. It was the most emotional, vulnerable kol nidrei for me. 

  It shook me to the core. 

  Your story of Reb Tzudik brought me to tears. Thank you for that. It really opened up something in me

  SATMAR - LUBAVITCH

  Rabbi Jacobson's pre sleeches was AMAZING. like allways.  

  I would like to share what peoples response was about the Shaprio story.

  This was repeated to Satmar chasidim who litterly lived at thier rebbe כולם כאחד אמרו that this story makes no sense. what ever the reason was I dont know. but they all claim satmar rebbe wasnt on the same page with the Lubavitch rebbe. satmar rebbe never even wanted to discuss about Lubavitch..

  more or less this was the response of several 70-75 year old yeeden fin bhm'd RODNEY.....

  Dear Rabbi Jacobson,  Thank you very much for yesterdays beautiful Sliches shiur.   I repeated the amazing story to a friend of mine about the Lubavitch rebbe with that letter of the mother of 12 children.  This man burst out laughing at me. saying satmar rebbe never met or wanted to meet ever the Lubavitch rebbe. it makes no sense he would ever send people to him....   

  Is there any clarification on this topic...

    1. הרי האדמו"ר מסאטמאר זי"ע ביקר אצל הרבי מליובאוויטש זי"ע בעשרת ימי תשובה שנת תשכ"ה לאחרי פטירת הרבנית חנה ז"ל, אמו של רבינו ז"ל! ויש גם רשימה מהשיחה ביניהם. ושמעתי בעצמי מהמזכיר רי"ל שי' גרונר שהמשב"ק ר' יוסל אשכנזי ע"ה צלצל כמה פעמים בשם הדברי יואל זי"ע כדי לקבוע זמן לבוא. אבל כל פעם דחה הדברי יואל הזמן כי הגיעו אנשים להדברי יואל זי"ע, כמדומה שהיה זה בליל ערב יוהכ"פ או לפניו. ובכל פעם שאל את רבינו, עד שרבינו אמר: ווען ער וועט קןמען איז גוט. וכמדומה הגיע מאד מאוחר בלילה לבקר אצל רבינו.

      מה שאמרתם שהרבי לא רצה לדבר מהאדמור מסאטמאר ומשכחת דרך הבעש''ט.

      בהרשימות הבלתי מוגהים אמר הרבי '' וואס דארך מען רעדן בדמותו של ישראל אז עס איזה גאר דא אזוינע אידן'' .

      ובכל עוד זכור הירך שהרבי מליובאוויטש הגיד שיחה אודות שמות שוקי כתר עליון נגד שמות שוקי וויליאמס בורג.

  People are asking about the story with Feivel Shapiro and the Lubavitcher Rebbe. A few points:

  1.The Satmar Rebbe came to the Lubavitcher Rebbe close to mid night in 1964, after the Rebbe's mother passed away.

  2. The Chabad Rebbe came to the Satmar Rav in 1954 when his daughter passed away.

  in both cases, they had long conversation.

  3. the Rebeb said pesach 1980 to Rav Yales, rabbi of Philadelphia, that he was good with the Satmar Rebbe and they had good connection.

  4. Rabbi YY heard the story from Feivel Shapiro -- what he heard from his father. How can i know if it is true?

  5. I do not see it hard to believe that if a certain situation came to the Satmar Rebbe and he felt the Lubavitcher Rebbe is an "Expert" on this, he would suggest the person goes to him.

  For example, say someone had a relative in the Soviet Union, and they came to the Satmar rebbe for advice, do you find it hard to think the Satamar Rav would send to the Rebbe who was involved in this? But again, i do not know

  i was moved by your selichos kumzitz, i repeated the story about frankfurt shul to my mother who saw the shul going up in flames, she told me that it was never rebuild that it holds now over 2000 people, and she verified it with her brother (my uncle) who has going back a few times and said that there is no shul that big now.
  my mother was very sad to hear the story that wasn't accurate.
  maybe i missed understood you.

  Hi Rabbi! Shana Tova...I just finished listening to your very inspiring pre Slichos Kumzits talk. I have been listening to your former speeches as well and the music in the background was a blessed innovation.
  However, it became too distracting and overwhelming at a time. I think it's fine and even contributing to the drama of stories, but in long speeches, I believe that at some of the not-so-dramatic segments - 'shutting off' the music and chanting actually gives the entire narrative a better flavor, on the whole.

  R. Jacobson has effectively created an operetta with that form of presentation.   Music by itself and background for words and as song,  Chassdic stories, and words of the Rebbe really weave an enchanting spell.

  The 12 kids story going around, everybody is crying. Why couldn't R. Feivel Shapiro not have asked the Rebbe how he knew? Was he overwhelmed?

  Here in Antwerp your story about The Rebbe is doing the what app rounds. 

  A Gevalt!!!!!

   

  I heard from a lubavitcher Chossid in London who heard from a satmer Chossid who begged Reb Yoel zyo for children and the rebber said to him Zolts Geen tso Yenem.  He didn't understand so the gabbe told him the Rebber means go to the  Lubavitcher Rebbe. 

  This backs up fivels story. 

  When the satmer Chossid was in  yechides THE REBBER asked him:

   

  היות שלהרבי מסאטמר היה לו יארצייט מה אמר בטיש? בקיצור הוא זכר שהרבי מסטמר זי"ע אמר סיום על מסכת חגיגה והקשה איך יכול להיות פושע ישראל בגופו ועושה מצוות כרימון?

  והרבי  הרצין פניו ואמר לי תמיד היה קשה איך הוא מלא מצוות כרימון ועדיין נחשב פושע ישראל?!

  I wanted to send you a note from our small frum community in Winnipeg, Canada. This is the second year that I live streamed your preselichot Kumzitz and I wanted to tell you how much Chizuk and inspiration you gave me last night in a very difficult time in my life.
  
  When we went to shul and we were only 7 for selichot at 1:15 am, I was disappointed but your beautiful words of Torah and Chizuk uplifted me to a very high point that I could bypass the disappointment and daven the Selichot with Kavanna Sheleimah.
  
  I wanted to say thank you for sharing! Throughout the year I enjoy your shiurim, divrei Torah on the Parsha etc.
  
  Please know that when you are delivering the beautiful words Torah and inspiration you are making a difference in small communities as well where we yearn for it.

  Rabbi Jacobson, thank you for this incredibly meaningful slichos night. It's  impossible to listen to the story of the Russian Jew and not want to sob with him.  Thanks for reminding us ' noone is late.' I never heard the difference between being compared to the stars and the sand. What an incredible lesson for all of  us these days. I will make sure to teach it to my seventh graders.

  Problem with the link

  rabbi , I watched the shiur live and really wanted to listen again to your opening vort about Dovid hamelech and asking like a melech. The  doesn’t seem to have recorded that part. How can I go about listening to that again? It was fantastic thank you
