Did the Rashbi change after his quarantine?
First, yasher koach for a triple header sunday. First this serious shiur, then a Yiddish kids program, than an English kids program back to back.. With very little recycling! The Gevaldike questions from kids are right up there with the best from adults. You take each like a chess master walking around the room playing a dozen different games with top notch opponents. Rapid fire. Then,, you know a pitcher only plays one game out of a double header, be must rest between games. 3 in row!
If memory serves me correctly, I recall the story with a few tanaaim discussing the Romans. Because of what he said, and the one who moysered, the Rashbi had to go run and hide in the cave for 12 years. We got to Zohar out of it. Obviously Hashem wanted him there giving him bokser and water to live on with his son.
The Rashbi most definitely lived in quarantine those 12 years. Did he change or at least perfect himelf when he came out as we are bidden to do?
No! His eyes set everything ablaze he looked at. Destructive. He couldn't understand a yid rushing home for Shabbos with besomim to make a brocha on.
He was ordered back for another year. When he emerged after the 13th year he was more balanced. When the yidden asked him if he could, with his ruach kakodesh delineate the graves in a field so the Cohanim could walk thru, instead of around, i.e. a simple gashmius favor for another, (like the Baal Shem tov demanded) he.obliged and was permitted to remain with civilization.
So basically the 12 year quarantine period, even writing .the Zohar wasn't enuf for the Rashbi. Can we do better?
Yes. We can learn from his story.

I'm battling reconciling rashbi burning up the farmer's field when he left the cave with him saying he'll get a פטור for every Jew.
also, isn't דבר שאינו מתכון specific to shabbos?
and if every yid sins as a davar she'aino miskavein, how could they ever bring a קרבן חטאת ?

Comparing today to 1945
I know we can't compare 1945 to 2020, but my 94 year old father who B'H has his health, his mind, his wife (my mom) asked me a couple of weeks ago, Why did I have to go through what I went through at the beginning of my life and now I have to go through this? I said I didn't know why. We talked about it for a while. He was so depressed. By the time we were finished talking, he seemed better. So I don't know if we will change. Individuals will for sure. I hope and pray that the World will change. I don't know. We will have to wait and see.
