  actually Israel education works the way the Rambam mandates. the government pays for yeshiva students. there is virtually no tuition in elementary school.

  What would the Rambam say about what happens in many schools today where parents almost bully teachers and children feel so empowered that they disrespect their teachers

  why don't Yeshiva's adhere to the class size rules - are they operating against Halacha do they think the Rambam didn't understand cognitive abilities of children or that in todays 15 second attention span children are better equipped or that the children are a lost cause anyway

  I know of a Mesivta that wanted to build (in Monsey) and the frum neighbors successfully stopped it. Is the halacha different for older children (bar mitzvah age) than small children?
